Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood
Jumeira University’s undergraduate program in Early Childhood Education is designed to provide students with both the academic foundation and the private/public school experience necessary to become successful beginning teachers of children from birth to 8 years (Grade Three). The Program aims to support students in expressing intellectual independence and become advocates of quality teaching in the early childhood field. The designated standards for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) serve as the JU curriculum design principles and standards.
The program has integrated field-based experiences in multiple early childhood settings and hands-on experience provided on campus through JU Child Developmental Center. The B.Ed. in Early Childhood offers graduates a broad range of career choices in early childhood. It allows them to work as: teachers in public and private schools from pre-school to grade 3; administrators and education specialists in kindergarten or elementary schools; daycare education practitioners and assistants (birth to grade 3); child development consultants or specialists in government agencies, private or community service organizations; education advisors in childcare centers or dedicated childcare programs, and researcher in early childhood studies.
