Fire Safety & Protection Training

This course is designed for workers who may come into contact with Fire hazard during the course of their work.

The five days advanced course consists of classroom lectures, demonstrations, fire chemistry, fire classification, prevention, portable extinguishers, breathing apparatus, fire behavior and attack, foam application and others

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the delegates will be able to:

• Identify fire hazards, how to eliminate or reduce their impact as an individual is key to working safely
• Understand the combustion process and different fire classes
• Understand fire extinguisher types, operating procedures, capabilities, and limitations
• Understand advanced firefighting concepts
• Reduce injuries and accidents to yourself and fellow workers helps build a safer working workplace for everyone

Day 2

• Explanation why different types of extinguishers are necessary & methods of operation - capabilities and limitations
• Using of fire hoses
• Products of Combustion and Their Effects on Life Safety
• Theory of Fire and Explosion Control
• Flammable Liquids fire control techniques

Day 3

• Different Fire phenomena
  • Hydrocarbon Fires, Heat wave, boil over and slop over
  • Flashover
  • Back-draft
• Fire Protection Fundamentals
• Passive Protection Systems, Spacing and Layout, Fireproofing, Containment and Drainage, Electrical Area Classification, etc.
• Active Protection Systems, Water Supply, Water Distribution, Detection and Alarm, Sprinklers, Foam Systems, Clean Agents, Carbon Dioxide Systems, etc.

Day 4

• Human factors in fire safety
• Fire Prevention
• Electrical appliances
• Control of electrostatic charge
• Welding/cutting and other hot works
• Storage of Flammable and combustible Liquids
• Storage and Handling of Chemicals
• Storage of Gases
• Hazardous waste control
• Housekeeping practices
• Emergency procedures

Day 5

• Selection of Personal Protective Equipment for Emergency First Responders
• Fire risk assessment
• Fire safety management
• High rise building safety
