Navsari Agricultural University of erstwhile Gujarat Agricultural University has been bestowed with the status of a full-fledged independent State Agricultural University with effect from May 1, 2004. Navsari Agricultural University is imparting agricultural education up to Ph.D. level in all the established faculties of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry and Veterinary to develop quality agricultural professional manpower, NAU also imparts vocational education and training through Diploma / Certificate courses in Agriculture, Horticulture, Livestock Inspection, Bakery, Landscaping & Gardening and Fisheries through Agricultural Polytechnics and Agri-Clinics for Horticulture and Agricultural Schools, LITC, Bakery, Gardner and Fisheries training centers respectively.

Navsari Agricultural University undertakes fundamental, applied and verification research in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, agricultural engineering and animal sciences through respective faculties, two zonal research stations, three main crop based research stations, three regional research stations and six satellite research stations.

NAU has a strong extension network of krushi vigyan kendras for transfer of technologies to farmers and agri-entrepreneurs. NAU has initiated single-window-delivery system through Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC).

On the day when Gujarat was rejoicing its 44th birthday celebration, Agricultural College of Navsari Campus attained the status of one of the full-fledged State Agricultural Universities. Since 1965, near historical place Dandi a giant prolific Agricultural Campus were presence, which is now identified as Navsari Agricultural University (NAU) since 1st May 2004. As per one articulate people says that "Land from Tapi to Vapi is full of fertility and having numerous potentials" that's why the south Gujarat region is producing diversity of crops like Rice, Sugarcane, Banana, Mango, Sapota, Sorghum, Wheat, Cotton, Small millets, Pulses, Vegetable crops and Flowers, etc.

The students are real asset for any University, which is truly proven by the students of Navsari Agricultural University by securing esteemed position across the country in versatile fields. The educators of the University are not only teaching technical knowledge but also nurturing moral values. Researchers of Navsari Agricultural University persistently digging new experiments with aim towards producing maximum quality yield with minimum cost. Along with producing quantum yield researcher community of NAU is also taking care of organic values of the crops which are challenging issue nowadays.

Today, in the rapidly changing era university essentially required regular technological up-gradations. When we talk about Agriculture, at the same time we need to address the associative aspects like Climate change and emerging biotic and abiotic stresses, Degrading or depleting natural resources, Changes in consumer preferences and emerging exports, Input use efficiency, Harvest losses and secondary agriculture, Protected farming, Organic farming, Declined preference for farm work and labor shortages. We need to understand importance of pervasive devices through which we are able to access information on figure tips. If we use ICT techniques in the proper way we can quickly transfer Lab research to real field implementation. Even, multimedia resources can be utilized to demonstrate proper agricultural practices with native easy under stable audio supportive format.
