Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
I did my Level 3 apprenticeship (Level 3 diploma in creative and digital media) from April 2016 to October 2017 with HCUK and I've overall had a good experience.
Regular reviews with my tutor and manager, sufficient help with the coursework to pass the unit, fun and interesting modules.
Sadly was not allowed to progress on to level 4 due to funding cuts, but my tutor promised to contact me the moment a suitable level 4 course becomes available.
Would recommend Hull College for anyone interested in an apprenticeship in the creative sector.

If you want to do a engineering course, go somewhere else, they will do everything to fail you, they don't care about you, they want only money for you..

I have been at the college for the last few weeks learning a bit of joinery, I have thoroughly enjoyed the time there, the instructor was very helpful and knowledgeable on the subject

Studied LVL 2 Electrotechnical Technology, the course was spot on in terms of learning and the tutors where perfect for the job (Paul Adams and Dave Penman) Some of the most brilliant minds when it comes to teaching young and older persons alike; the key is putting in the effort yourself (obviously) as we found a few people didn't really want to knuckle down and learn like they should have - needless to say they never made it to LVL 3.

Studied music here. The staff lack in music knowledge and seem to assume music is all about politics and society. There is almost nothing about composing and arranging music and learning musical styles and themes, music in game/film/tv, reading and writing music etc...

Very disappointed about my time at the college during the last year on a Level 3 Art and Design course. Staff took no responsibility for its students and I feel enrolled anybody they could get, regardless of their suitability, onto its course to fill places. The environment was very noisy with people shouting, throwing things around and being disruptive, not being told to be quiet by staff. When a complaint was made nobody acted on it and instead staff closed ranks and accepted no responsibility. Is this Hull's idea of further education? Unruly classrooms with disinterested staff? I expected much better.
