Job Summary

BCIT’s Mechanical Engineering department is seeking a temporary, full-time Faculty in Mechanical Engineering. The successful candidate is someone who is an enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with a broad, practical knowledge of mechatronics and controls. The successful applicant can expect to be assigned courses across a range of areas related to controls and must have a strong commitment to teaching and interacting with students, an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and an interest in developing and delivering quality curriculum.

The areas of instruction may include:

• Basic Control Theory
• Introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) applications
• Instrumentation and Measurement

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Five years of experience in a relevant engineering environment.
• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (PEng).
• Effective command of the English language – both written and oral.
• Effective interpersonal skills and a strong desire to teach.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams.
• Post-secondary teaching experience is preferred.
