Job Summary
The professorship for Leadership and Strategic Management is assigned to “other strategic research areas” in the development plan of the TU Wien. The applicant’s research focus should be in one of the following areas:
- Leadership & Strategic Management
- Human Resource Development
- Change Management
- Organizational Development
- Organizational Ambidexterity & Capability Development
In addition, the position holder will be entrusted with the management of the Continuing Education Center of the TU Wien. The area of responsibility includes the strategic positioning as well as the design and development of the postgraduate continuing education program of the TU Wien.
The duties of a university professor at TU Wien include, in addition to research, teaching activities (in German and in English) in the bachelor, master and PhD programmes as well as collaboration in management of the institute and the faculty.
It is expected that the position holder will teach courses in our postgraduate management programs as well as in Bachelor, Master and PhD programs (in German and in English) in basic subjects of business administration as well as in leadership & strategic management.
Your profile
- A doctorate or PhD at a domestic or equivalent foreign university or research institution in the field of the professorship
- A venia docendi awarded by a domestic university or an equivalent foreign university or an equivalent authorization to teach as a university lecturer
- Publications in internationally renowned scientific journals in the research areas of the professorship
- Didactic competences in academic teaching in the mentioned subject area in German and English. Teaching experience in postgraduate education is advantageous
- International experience at universities in German or non-German-speaking countries
- Profound knowledge of the Austrian and international postgraduate education market and extensive experience with the design of postgraduate education programs, especially in the field of management development
- Profound knowledge and experience in dealing with learning and change processes. Management experience in the field of change management and reorganization of postgraduate education institutions are advantageous
- Experience in the acquisition and management of research projects and relevant research experience with national and international reputation
- Ability to network with industry and practitioners, own experience in business practice is advantageous
Leadership experience and competence
- Very good knowledge of German (mother tongue or certified GER level C2) and excellent written and spoken English
- Ideally, the position holder has competencies or experiences in the field of promoting young talent and women and in gender mainstreaming
- On-site presence is expected
