Cukurova University

Cukurova University, Faculty of Agriculture was established pursuant to Act dated February 13,1969 and numbered 1099 and Faculty of Medicine was established pursuant to Act dated April 12, 1972 and numbered 1578, by connecting to respectively Ankara and Atatürk University, at the end of being united pursuant to Act dated November 30, 1973 and numbered 1786.

Amount of faculty in university has increased up to 5 with establishing Faculty of Basic Sciences, Administrative Science and Engineering from date of 1974. In 1982, Basic Science was transformed to Faculty of Science and Letters; Administrative Science to Faculty of Economics and Administrative Science by being united Adana Academy of Economics and Commercial Sciences and Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences; Faculty of Engineering to Faculty of Engineering and Architecture by being united Adana Academy of Economics and Commercial Science and Faculty of Engineering.

Also, Faculty of Education was established by collecting all of School of Foreign Languages belonging to Ministry of National Education under the Cukurova University in 1982 within Adana, İçel and Hatay provinces, thus, this uniting has won the great academic power to university. By 1992 year, Çukurova University consisting of 6 Faculties, 11 Colleges, 3 Institutes, 1 State Conservatory, 22 Research and Application Center contributed to establish 3 new universities. 2 Colleges equipped with modern buildings, laboratories and education tools were assigned to Mersin University; 3 Colleges, which one of them places in İskenderun and other the two places in Antakya, were assigned to Hatay Mustafa Kemal University.
