Meridian Pinehurst is an independent mainstream school accommodating learners from four months old to Grade 12.
We aim to stimulate and motivate learners to receive and enjoy quality education, develop the necessary life skills and respect for diversity to guide them towards responsible adulthood, enabling them to take their rightful place in society.
Our nursery school provides a sound and safe environment where each child is extended and growth is encouraged academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
In the primary and high schools the focus is on academic excellence, with an emphasis on preparation for tertiary education. A disciplined, safe and stable environment is offered and a culture of quality in the classroom is supported by a well-managed curriculum and committed educators. Our schools offer extended school hours to provide academic support.
Along with the core values, Meridian Pinehurst will teach learners the values of respect, manners, hard work and commitment, honesty and integrity, promoting a sense of self-worth, potential and self-value.
The enhanced mainstream curriculum emphasises gateway subjects such as Mathematics, Science and Accounting, but also gives the necessary attention to Computer Literacy and Information Technology. Meridian Pinehurst is managed by Curro Holdings Ltd.
We have created a centre of learning where children can realise their full potential by providing a comprehensive, individually-orientated education of the highest standard.
Meridian Nursery School provides a sound foundation for meeting the tasks and challenges of future learning. We encourage and teach each child social and life skills in a warm and loving environment. We acknowledge that each child is an individual and we allow them to work at their own pace.
We create a sound and safe environment where each child is extended and growth is encouraged academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Classes follow weekly-themed programmes and even the smallest baby is exposed to our themes through songs and rhymes.
Communication between parent and teacher is vital and we maintain an open-door policy.Daily feedback is sent for Group 1 to Group 3 classes and adjustment reports are handed out three times during the year for all ages.
Each class has an assistant, with Groups 1 and 2 having two assistants And a registered nurse is on-site from 07:30 – 15:30.
In the intermediate phase, the emphasis is still on establishing basic foundations, but learners are led into more abstract thought and independent work. Application of skills and concepts is also a focus area in this phase. This phase aims to prepare learners for the senior phase in the high school. We promote creativity and critical thinking by encouraging children to make their own choices within well-established boundaries.
We aim to embrace 21st-century learning by incorporating the use of tablets in our classrooms. We currently raise children who are ‘digital natives’. By embracing innovative technology into our schools, we are speaking the language our learners understand.
English Home Language, Afrikaans or isiXhosa First Additional Language (Grade 7), Mathematics, Computers, Physical Education, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Life Orientation/Skills, Art, Music, Economic and Management Sciences, Technology.
Our goal is to develop responsible, independent and proud individuals who will make a positive contribution to society. Our ethos is governed by Christian values (ethics and morals) where learners are encouraged to explore and express their individuality within acceptable boundaries, and ultimately take responsibility for their actions.
We guide them to follow their hearts and minds to develop into the best people they can be. Our dynamic curriculum covers problem-solving, critical thinking and the development of skills and values. Both individual and group work are evaluated. Meridian Pinehurst produces a community of teenagers who know how to think innovatively, express their ideas and take charge of their own lives. Learners are prepared for the National Senior Certificate (NSC).
