Holy Rosary School

All our precious children may be in the same physical space, but each one of them is actively encouraged to seek their own pathway and reach their personal best. We actively celebrate the fact that our Pathways children are afforded ongoing opportunities to find the educational pathway that most appeals to them. They are consistently supported on their journey of exploration and discovery.

Our children are individuals and are afforded access to a broad base of age-appropriate opportunities to develop and consolidate a wide range of core competencies, so they are deemed to be school-ready by the time they complete the Gr 00 curriculum. They explore a wide selection of skills from gross-motor skills to fine-motor skills, perceptual to social skills; all the while ensuring their emotional compass is pointing them in the optimal direction. They lead the way and we support and follow them along their path of choice.

Just like the universe is made up of a variety of stars, some smaller than others, some brighter, some further away, some older than others and new ones forming, so our school is made up of a variety of stars. Our shining starlets, our reason for existence, our girls, shine in the classroom, on the sports field, on stage and in giving to others. Our amazing teachers dedicate their time to encouraging our starlets in their care to assimilate attitudes and values which will enable them to become life-long learners and appreciate and develop their God-given talents all whilst acquiring important skills.

At Holy Rosary, we are very conscious that we are preparing our young women for a world that is changing so rapidly that the workplace they will one day enter bears very little resemblance to the workplace we know now. More than ever, the world needs young people who are well-rounded, who are communicators, who are flexible, who have resistance, determination, leadership, co-operation and social responsibility.

We strive for a holistic education that meets our girls' needs - academically, spiritually, culturally and physically. Our aim is to give our girls the most relevant education for today and prepare them for the world of tomorrow. Each of our girls is unique and we strive to constantly provide them with the opportunities they need to discover what they love and then develop their God-given talents so that through hard work and dedication they will one day take their place in serving their community.

We dedicate ourselves to the honour and glory of God and the vision of the Holy Rosary Sisters which urges us to value the uniqueness and potential of each individual and to strive for excellence in education within the context of a changing South African and global society.​

We nurture God-given talents and potential in an environment of educational excellence. However, our girls’ education expands beyond the classroom – through sport, culture, spirituality and service – where they are given the opportunities to develop further skills, and the guidance and tools to lead happy, balanced and successful lives.
