The aim of the Diploma in Human Resources is to give an in-depth of knowledge, skills and application to learners who are practitioners in the workplace.

The qualification has several core units on communication, health & safety, social responsibilities and citizenship. In addition to other units, it looks at planning the workforce, remuneration management, recruiting and selecting staff, inducting staff, terminating staff, managing expatriate staff and performance management system in human resource environments.

Target Audience

The Diploma in Human Resources program is designed for any individual who is, or desire to be productively involved in human resources management; particularly in staff recruitment and management. Also for anyone who desires to further acquire a Bachelors in Human Resource Management

What will I learn?

By the end of this course, you would learn how to do the following and more;

  • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety and recreation programs.
  • Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants.
  • Allocate human resources, ensuring appropriate matches between personnel.
  • Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with under staffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.
  • Analyze training needs to design employee development.
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices.
  • Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Prepare and follow budgets for personnel operations.
  • Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests.
  • Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
  • Understand legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
