City Impact Church School is the realisation of a long held dream to create a unique school which inspires and equips students to reach their God-given potential. Our vision is to provide high quality education within a Christian environment so that students can achieve academic excellence whilst growing in their faith. Created in God’s image, with unlimited potential, we know our students each carry unique gifts and qualities that, given the right atmosphere, opportunity and encouragement, will enable them to accomplish incredible things and bring great fulfilment to their lives.

City Impact Church School offers a full primary and secondary school with excellent facilities and resources, and an emphasis on academic excellence. This is complemented by a strong Arts and Sports programme. At City Impact Church School we are a support to families as they train their children in God’s ways, alongside the local church. Partnering together we are able to prepare them to be successful in all spheres of life.

City Impact Church School is a private Christian school on Auckland’s North Shore. Founded in 2004, it has special significance for our Senior Pastors, Peter and Bev Mortlock. It is a realisation of a dream that has long burned in their hearts to create a place where students can freely worship God whilst learning and achieving academic success. A place where every student can gain a Biblical perspective of the world, growing in wisdom, knowledge and Godly character, and create a foundation in Christ and in His word that securely seals their future and destiny. A place where the Holy Spirit resides in such a way that, every day, they truly encounter the power of God.

Our Curriculum House represents the framework through which our teaching programmes are built upon. The structure of the house is made up of the ‘foundations’, ‘pillars’, ‘walls’ and ‘roof’. Each part of the house represents the key components of our curriculum philosophy. Our framework ensures that each curriculum area is undergirded with biblical truth and supports the vision and values of the school.

As the students learn about the Holy Spirit, they are encouraged to know Him personally and become Spirit-led Christians. They are taught to be confident in their spirit, bringing their soul and mind in line with their spirit as the strongest influence on their lives. They are taught to live truly Christian lives, having the character, fruit and supernatural results of living in connection with their Creator; the way it was always meant to be.

At City Impact Church School the subject range that is offered to our students from Years 0-10 includes the following: Kingdom Building: History, Geography and Doctrine, Language, Mathematics, Science, Art, Music, Drama and Physical Education / Sport.

The Cambridge International Examinations Programme (CIE) will provide the basis for study at Years 11 – 13. Compulsory subjects taken by Year 11 students include: English Language and English Literature, Mathematics (Core/Extended), Co-ordinated Science (Core/Extended), City Impact Doctrine & Mentoring programme. Students are currently able to select two subjects from the following range; History, Geography, Business Studies, Media Studies and Art and Design.

A further explanation of the subjects taught from Years 0-10. In each of these subjects we have also written a biblical statement which explains why we teach each learning area. In developing and delivering our Christian Curriculum we come from the premise that God is truth, and that all truth is God’s truth, therefore there is no separation between religious and natural truth. Therefore, instruction about God and His principles are not confined to just an act of worship or doctrine class, but students are inspired throughout all subject areas. Below gives a description of how this is seen.

This is an exceptional production which includes the whole of the school in the cast or as technical support each year.

Performed in our over 1800 seat auditorium at our North Shore Campus as well as our 800 seater auditorium in Mt Wellington, this production offers our children an incredible opportunity to minister with skill and anointing to the lives of a huge number of people in our community.

The concept of having ‘adopted grandparents’ in the school is a fundamental tenet of the school and is a special difference which sets City Impact Church School apart.

Each child is assigned to a ‘school grandparent’ – who is affectionately called their ‘warrior’ (each student thinks they are pretty awesome!). They are the more mature Christians of City Impact’s church congregation, and become a special part of a student’s life.

The programme itself provides an invaluable opportunity for the students to learn to relate to an older generation, establishing a relationship and a sense of connectedness; handing the ‘baton’ from one generation to another. It provides another example of a Christian life for the students; someone who has a strong, flourishing relationship with God, someone who has been running the race for some time and can be a source of inspiration and wisdom.
