Montana State University Billings has been an integral part of the Billings community and a student-centered learning environment since its early days as Eastern Montana College. Founded in 1927, the university continues to nurture a longstanding tradition of educational access, teaching excellence, civic engagement and community enhancement in an urban setting. In the classroom and in the community, students receive a well-rounded unique education and training for Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees for careers through the University’s five colleges — arts and sciences, business, allied health professions, education,and City College.

Set in the largest city in the state, Montana State University Billings and the community of Billings combine for a unique college experience: engaged and encouraging faculty; friendly people; a supportive community; and incredible educational opportunities. Graduate programs at MSUB are committed to helping you achieve your professional goals. In fact, nearly 70% of MSUB grad students find employment in their field prior to graduation.

MSUB offers affordable quality graduate education in Montana’s largest city with degree programs that are regionally accredited and recognized for their excellence. Our graduate faculty members are commended nationally and internationally for their teaching, research, and scholarship.

The University Honors Program offers intellectually stimulating classes and career-building opportunities. Smaller in size, Honors classes are taught by outstanding professors; foster active, engaged learning; and emphasize problem-solving, innovation, and creativity. Via their experiences in the program, UHP students are challenged to explore new ideas and to evaluate held knowledge. Online students at MSUB take classes from the same top-notch College of Business professors who teach on campus. Like with traditional classes, online students still participate in class discussions via online threads and develop a community among their classmates, all while having immense flexibility and independent schedules.
