With a student body of nearly 8,000 students, we are large enough to offer more than 110 programs of study yet small enough for students to form quality relationships with each other and caring faculty.

We stress quality education and experience inside and outside the classroom on our scenic, 690-acre lakeside campus.

Students pursue bright futures through programs in our College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; School of Business; School of Communication, Media and the Arts; and School of Education — as well as innovative interdisciplinary programs that cross traditional boundaries. Oswego opens doors to the future with internships and study-abroad opportunities that rate among the highest in the SUNY system.

Research in cutting-edge laboratories. High-profile internships. Study — or student teach — abroad. Professional quality theatre productions. On-air news production and broadcasting. At SUNY Oswego, traditional classroom lectures meet real-life programming, enhancing your practical experiences and engaging you in meaningful work outside of the classroom.

SUNY Oswego has undergraduate programs from Accounting to Zoology. Our four distinct colleges offer about 60 undergraduate majors. Students can combine majors, add up to two minors, or concentrate your study in specific areas through your choice of electives.

Graduate Studies at SUNY Oswego offers more than 35 different graduate programs and certificates which are offered online, on our main campus, or at our Syracuse campus. Most programs accept students from all undergraduate majors.

Our downtown campus in Clinton Square is easily accessible to faculty, students, professionals, business and industry partners, and community service organizations. With day and evening classes, the Syracuse campus accommodates the busy schedules of nontraditional students and working professionals. The dynamic learning environment is enriched by opportunities, experiences and resources found in downtown Syracuse.

SUNY Oswego's Division of Extended Learning is committed to providing access to high-quality education to people at all ages and stages of life and career. The division creates, delivers and supports innovative and responsive credit and non-credit programing for diverse audiences.

Go beyond the traditional classroom. With so many internships, co-ops and other experiential learning opportunities you can get real world work experience as you learn. Travel abroad is an educational experience that remains with you for a lifetime; a semester abroad allows you to live, study and immerse yourself in all that a country has to offer. SUNY Oswego literally offers you the world through study abroad programs that provide learning and living opportunities at more than 80 sites in 30 countries across the globe.

Oswego provides opportunities for students to engage in hands-on, career-related experience, that often times lead to publishable research or presentations.

We want you to succeed, that’s why we give you the tools to do your best. Whether it’s tutoring in calc or guiding you towards a career we can help get you on track. Undecided? No worries, we’ll help.

Approximately 88% of Oswego’s full-time faculty — which includes Fulbright scholars, noted researchers and gifted artists and writers — hold doctorals or other advanced degrees in their respective fields.

SUNY Oswego is home to students from all over the world. Over 270 international students from more than 35 different countries are currently enrolled at SUNY Oswego as degree-seeking undergraduates, graduate students, exchange students, and to study English. You must apply as an international applicant if you are not a US citizen or a US permanent resident.

As an inclusive campus, SUNY Oswego is committed to making your transition to the college and to the United States as seamless as possible. The International Student and Scholar Services Office (ISSS) provides many services to help you adjust to campus life including a New Student Orientation, campus programs and events, support with cultural adjustment, and more. The ISSS Office will also be your main point-of-contact during your admissions process.

Our goal is to make a quality Oswego education affordable to you! A degree is an investment, and avenues to get there include scholarships, grants, student employment and loans. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will help guide you.

What happens to you outside the classroom during your time here can be just as important as what happens inside the classroom.

Our first-year programs help transition incoming students to a new living and learning environment. Consider joining an organization, checking out campus events, exploring services and other resources that will foster your personal growth, help enrich your leadership skills, and prepare you for a rewarding career and active, positive citizenship.

Whether you are a first year student exploring majors and careers or a senior searching for a job, our team is here to help you every step of the way. We have a very clear vision for our students: to help them explore, identify, and successfully compete for careers which match their personal and professional goals.

Our goal is to provide all students with the most comprehensive set of services. These services support diverse populations including resident, transfer, commuter, non-traditional, disabled, under-represented and military veteran students.

Students can access Ticketmaster, bus service, check cashing, the College BookStore, social and television lounges, reservable spaces for events and meetings, a hair salon, Internet kiosks, food court, dining and catering services, auditorium, convenience shops, ATMs, copy center and pool tables. Student organization offices house campus media groups, activity planning boards and student government.
