The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill has been a leader in hands-on learning for more than a century. Today, more 2,500 students are enrolled in 56 associate and baccalaureate degree programs in the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the School of Business and Liberal Arts & Sciences.

A SUNY Cobleskill education is defined by innovative, experiential learning. Our 100-year-old standard that students learn by doing was formalized in 2016 with the SUNY system’s first applied learning requirement, guaranteeing that every SUNY Cobleskill student graduates with real-world experience.

Academics are the core of any college. SUNY Cobleskill is proud of its long tradition of combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. We have traditional classrooms, but the College is renowned for its “real life” laboratories: a dairy barn, equestrian center, greenhouses, heavy equipment laboratory, fish hatchery, restaurant, catering kitchen, production kitchens, child care center, child development center, histotechnology laboratory and computer labs, just to name a few.

The academic experience at SUNY Cobleskill is complemented by countless opportunities for students to challenge themselves inside and outside the classroom. Campus-wide events, more than 50 student clubs, and residence hall councils are just a few examples of potential leadership positions. Students can also participate in a full array of intramural and intercollegiate athletics on 20 Fighting Tigers sports teams.

SUNY Cobleskill's academic advising focuses on student success by engaging students in the development of a plan to realize their career, educational and academic goals. Academic advisement is a partnership between advisors and students, each actively engaged in this educational process, with the ultimate goal of student success, while guided by the principle of "real life, real learning".

SUNY Cobleskill is a safe campus surrounded by mountains, clean water and fresh air in upstate New York. The College is located 35 minutes from Albany, New York's capital city, and is only a few hours from New York City, Boston and Montreal. Bus transportation at the College enhances the academic experience for students by providing opportunities to visit big cities.

At SUNY Cobleskill, incoming international students will join other students from Asia, the Middle East, Central Europe, North America and other locations to become members of a friendly college community. To help international students succeed in their undergraduate experience, the Office of International Education provides guidance and support in all matters.

It is our intent to have students become engaged citizens of the campus community … and of a diverse world. Student Development staff works to build an environment that is supportive and inclusive. Staff is accessible, caring and available to assist students and to ensure an overall student life experience. It is our goal to help students whenever necessary with transition, adjustment and/or college life issues as they arise. In doing this, we work to create a caring community that values students and their safety, offers strong personal support and provides quality student services that make a difference in the overall maturation of an individual.
