Fueled by a higher calling, we provide a transformational learning experience that prepares students for servant leadership and equips them with skills and habits to make a difference in the lives of others. Our colleges and schools are each unique in their respective areas of expertise, yet they are united by our mission to lead with purpose and work together to offer interdisciplinary degree programs for our students.
The mission of Campbell University is to graduate students with exemplary academic and professional skills who are prepared for purposeful lives and meaningful service. The University is informed and inspired by its Baptist heritage and three basic theological and biblical presuppositions: learning is appointed and conserved by God as essential to the fulfillment of human destiny; in Christ all things consist and find ultimate unity; and the Kingdom of God in this world is rooted and grounded in Christian community. The University embraces the conviction that there is no conflict between the life of faith and the life of inquiry.
The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences prepares students to excel in the ever-expanding world of health care through degree programs that emphasis interprofessional education, service learning, and personalized training.Campbell Divinity prepares Christian leaders to serve through a holistic approach to theological education that integrates faith, academics, and practice. Campbell Medicine prepares community-based physicians who take a holistic approach to care and who focus on serving rural and underserved populations. Campbell Business offers graduate and professional degrees on its main campus and in downtown Raleigh that serve full-time students and working professionals. Located in downtown Raleigh, Campbell Law School offers its students unmatched networking, externship, and learning opportunities that equip them with superb professional skills and prepare them for purposeful lives of leadership and service. The School of Education helps practicing professionals relate theory and research to current practice, trends, and issues through graduate programs in education, school administration, and counseling.
Campbell University offers its students a variety of Academic Honor Societies. Honor Societies are organizations that recognize students who excel academically or as leaders among their peers, often within a specific academic discipline.
On Jan. 5, 1887, James Archibald Campbell, a 26-year-old Baptist minister, welcomed 16 students to a small church in Buies Creek, N.C., for the first day of classes for the school he founded: Buies Creek Academy. By the end of the first term, there were 92 students.Since then, Buies Creek Academy has evolved to become Campbell Junior College (1926), Campbell College (1961), and Campbell University (1979). Throughout these transformations, the university has remained true to its founding principles to address the most pressing needs of North Carolina and to educate men and women for Christian service around the world.
Since our founding in 1887, all of our programs, initiatives, and ambitions have grown out of our persistent commitment and our intentional pursuit to serve others for the sake of our community, nation and world.
We celebrate the start of each academic year with a weeklong series of activities and events. They include the Street Fair, where you can ride a camel, and the Party in the Park, where we hold a Mud Volleyball tournament. We welcome new students at a ceremony where they receive a medallion pressed with the university seal. The gift marks the start of their academic journey at Campbell. When you join the Campbell community, you join a student body that shows their pride on and off the bleachers. Wear your brightest orange on Wednesdays to let everyone know you're on the home team. The Kivett Bell once rang from the iconic Kivett Hall to signal the changing of classes. Now the bell rings after every Fighting Camels touchdown at Barker-Lane Stadium.
Juniors and seniors receive their official class rings on Homecoming Saturday. Campbell ROTC cadets escort the rings from the bell tower to Butler Chapel to pay homage to history. West Point started class ring ceremonies in 1835. We invite our first-year students to take the field at the first home football game of the season. Why? So they can form a tunnel as our Fighting Camels run onto the field. Our mascot made his first appearance in 1934. Today, you can see him strutting at Fighting Camels home games and even riding around main campus on his tricycle. The campus community comes together to welcome alumni home and to celebrate Campbell with tailgates, a parade, and athletics contests, including a home football game.
Even though school’s out in December, we are full of Christmas spirit. We start singing carols and hymns in November with the lighting of our tree on the Academic Circle. Hot chocolate included. We celebrate our founding in 1887 the first week of February each year. The campus comes alive with a tribute to our founders and an introspection on where we came from and where we are. Midnight Breakfast occurs twice a year on the eve of exams. Marshbanks opens at 10 p.m. and serves a full spread of eggs, bacon, pancakes, toast, and waffles. Free T-shirts, too.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
I didn't go to college to party, nor am I religious. I went to college to get the education to prepare me for a career. I received it from Campbell, with four job offers from which to choose upon graduation. I received a fantastic education and the necessary guidance from my adviser. The education I received was better than than that of college from large "party schools." I was better skilled with the necessary tools to achieve and succeed in the workforce and was even asked to train other interns while I was an intern myself. The education was that good. Oh, and I still had time for social activities, both on campus and off, student government,a part-time job and a boyfriend. College is what one makes of it; I chose not to waste my time and mind and get the job done.

Campbell has always made it easy for the average student to attend; however, once accepted, it was understood very quickly that you needed to study to remain in school. After Campbell, I went to a very well known, large university to receive my masters degree. The department head there stated that he chose me because I had attended a small university which offered internships. He continued saying that students who come from smaller universities usually are better equipped to handle graduate school. I found my graduate studies easier than many of the classes I had at Campbell. When I started my counseling career, I found I was able to use many of the practical skills I had learned from my classes at Campbell. My sister who is also an alumni 8 years later has stated similar comments as the above.

Oh what can I say about campbell university? It is a good school because there are a lot of challenging classes here at the university. When you come here you can get a scholarship if you make decent grades. Only down side for this university is that there is no grocery stores or fast foods except 1. But they are building papa johns this semester so this will be a plus for the university. I am a junior and I will be graduating next year gladly. I hope that when I graduate i wll have a good job after I leave here.

Campbell prepared me well for graduate school, employment, and life. The professors truly served as mentors, and I am proud to be a Campbell graduate.

This was definitely the place for me. I found good teachers,a good place to live, food is great (just ask if you want something different) They are building new buildings and adding new food offerings each year. My classes are challenging but I didn't expect it to be easy. There is always something to do if you just look. You can hide in your room or go find something. It is Christian but that is not a bad thing. I recommend it and I am glad my guidance counselor did too.
