Wingate University is a comprehensive, independent and growing university that blends in-class learning with out-of-class application to deliver a life-changing educational experience.

Founded in 1896 — the original campus is located in Wingate, North Carolina, and two additional campuses are located in the Ballantyne neighborhood of Charlotte and in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The university serves more than 3,600 students, including undergraduate and graduate students. We emphasize faith, knowledge and a spirit of service in all our programs, regardless of field of study.

Founded in 1896, the University offers 35 undergraduate majors as well as graduate and professional programs. Wingate is home to the Cannon College of Arts and Sciences, the Levine College of Health Sciences, the Byrum School of Business, the Thayer School of Education and the School of Sport Sciences.

If you’re ready to begin your graduate work, Wingate University offers nine programs to help you achieve your dreams. Each has its own application for admission. Because we use a rolling admissions process, there is no deadline to apply.

The Office of International Programs (OIP) serves as Wingate’s center for facilitating lifelong global engagement. We live in an interconnected world of diverse cultures and countries, and students need to be prepared to live and work in an international community. OIP works to provide an authentic global perspective both on and off campus by creating student opportunities abroad, offering services for international students and scholars, developing international activities for faculty, and providing innovative programming focused on enhancing an internationalized campus.

As a Wingate University student, you might not need to visit each one of these offices on a weekly basis, but most students will need their services during their time on campus. We’d like to introduce you to them.

The Office of Academic Advising is your go-to source for everything you need to know about choosing courses, staying on track for graduation and declaring a major. Incoming freshmen are assigned an advisor. Yours is your best source of information and help as you navigate your way through your first year of college. They can answer your questions, help you determine the best choices and offer advice on how to adapt to college life.

We know you’ve heard it before, but for many students, the transition from high school to college isn’t always smooth. Coursework can be a challenge, which is we recommend a visit to the Academic Resource Center to learn the strategies that will help you succeed.

The ability to communicate effectively is a critical skill for all students. You’ll need strong writing skills as a Wingate University student, and the tutors at the Writing Center can help you hone those skills. Whether you’re working on a business case study or a scientific analysis, the peer tutors can help you acquire necessary skills to convey your ideas.

It’s a digital world, and the Office of Information Technology Services strives to keep everyone connected. From helping you access campus Wi-Fi to providing recommendations on how to stay safe online, the staff of ITS is prepared to answer your questions. Need help? Stop by their desk on the second floor of the library. The right size. We're small enough to get to know most everyone on campus and big enough to provide global-sized opportunities.
