As the west of Scotland’s only day and boarding school, Lomond School welcomes families from around the world to enjoy a first class education and lifestyle from ages 3 to 18. Our unique location in the coastal town of Helensburgh, on the edge of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, provides a perfect setting to deliver a rounded education which inspires academic achievement and a love for the outdoors.

We passionately believe that education should be about supporting our pupils to develop and grow, both academically and personally, as rounded individuals with strong values. Through our Guiding Principles and School Values we prepare our young people for life beyond Lomond School, equipping them with the skills and qualifications to embark confidently and successfully on their future endeavours.

Lomond School provides a seamless education for girls and boys from Nursery to Senior 6. A strong family ethos runs throughout the school and a warm welcome awaits new pupils and their families. With an individualised approach to learning, strong academic results, outstanding outdoor learning, and a wide and varied extra-curricular programme, our school delivers a perfectly balanced education tailored to every child.

Lomond School is a co-educational, independent day and boarding school for children aged 3 to 18, situated in Helensburgh, Scotland. Whether they have lived locally all their lives or have joined us as international boarders, our pupils and their families benefit from joining a welcoming community with a distinct family atmosphere. Academic success is at the core of what we achieve at Lomond, backed up by a strong emphasis on developing our young people through involvement in a wide range of activities closely linked to our school philosophy and values.

At Lomond School, we prepare our pupils for their future by ensuring that they learn the skills necessary to be successful in the 21st century whilst developing the traditional values and qualities that they require to be responsible and active global citizens.

Lomond School seamlessly blends the old with the new. A visit to Clarendon, which makes up part of our Junior School, is a clear example of this, with its beautifully restored period features sitting comfortably alongside the latest technology. Indeed, many facilities at Lomond School are enviable, with a purpose-built sports complex, modern and homely boarding house and a 1:1 iPad programme for all pupils from Transitus 1 (Primary 6) to Senior 6.

Being situated in the leafy town of Helensburgh, nestled between the banks of the River Clyde and Loch Lomond, enables us to make the most of our unique location, with a strong commitment to extra-curricular activities and particular emphasis on Outdoor Education.
