The University of South Australia has a PhD top-up scholarship available for students to conduct research in studying fast and reliable intrusion detection methods for unmanned aerial vehicles. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)-based civilian and military applications become prevalence. The security concerns. especially in context of networked UAVs, increase due to malicious attacks over open-air radio space. Intrusion detection systems (IDSs) ensure the safety of various UAV-based missions. In this project, we will study the state-of-the-art intrusion detection methods that deal with various attacks in networked UAV environments. We will evaluate the methods in various simulated environments and develop improved methods for real time and robust intrusion detections.
The top-up scholarship would be ideal for a student who has an interest in machine learning and communication.
The successful candidate will work with Professor Jiuyong Li from UniSA STEM.
How to apply and closing date
Applications open until filled.
