About Company

Australian Catholic University (ACU) is a public not-for-profit university funded by the Australian Government. Our students have soul. They have heart. But more than that – they have the courage to turn their compassion into action. We empower our students to achieve their goals, and accomplish something incredible for themselves, and for others. If you want to look beneath the surface, stand up for what you believe in, and redefine success – you’re going to thrive at ACU.

We enjoy an impressive list of accolades and achievements. Our staff, students and researchers have an outstanding reputation, and are recognised for their significant contributions to the local and international community. As a Catholic university, ACU engages in the Catholic intellectual tradition where faith and reason are compatible in education, and knowledge is cultivated in an environment that fosters intellectual freedom, personal development and equity for all.

ACU'S Catholic identity is animated through a campus-wide commitment to serving others, developing an active learning community and fostering a just society. An ACU education is about your integral human development. You are more than your degree. It’s learning to look at the world with empathy and confidence. It’s learning to listen and lead. It’s challenging stereotypes, and having the courage to make an impact. The University’s Core Curriculum lies at the heart of this transformation. It’s a key part of every ACU student’s education - giving you time to reflect on ways we can change the world by applying the principles of Catholic Social Thought.

We explore cultural, social, ethical and religious issues through the lens of the Catholic Intellectual Tradition in our teaching, research and service. By fostering and advancing knowledge in education, health, commerce, the humanities, the sciences and technologies, law, and the creative arts, ACU contributes to its local, national and international communities. Our graduates will be skilled in their chosen fields, ethical in their behaviour, with a developed critical habit of mind, an appreciation of the sacred in life and a commitment to serving the common good.
