About Company

We're a modern university with a long and proud history, dating from the opening of two 19th century schools which would later become the foundations for Sheffield Polytechnic. Our campuses have seen two World Wars – Collegiate Crescent was used as a military hospital from 1915–19, and when Collegiate Hall and the main building on Arundel Street were bombed during the Sheffield Blitz (1940), students rallied round to help wherever possible. Our students, of all ages, nationalities and disciplines, make our community enriching and diverse place to live and learn.

Our courses provide them with the skills they need for modern working life and prepare them for careers, not just jobs. Our graduates go on to work all over the world in the public and private sector, many at senior levels, in global organisations.

Our staff has a depth of expertise, knowledge and experience which they use to encourage, guide and support those who learn here. Ground-breaking research in business, engineering, sport and healthcare wouldn't happen without our innovative researchers and our courses come alive through teachers who apply real-world knowledge to everything they do.

We shape our students' futures, preparing them for whatever they choose to do, and create knowledge that provides practical solutions to real world challenges. We will be the world's leading applied university, achieving outstanding outcomes for our students and our city, and showing the world what a university genuinely focused on transforming lives can achieve.
