Famous acting practitioner Stanford Meisner said “Acting is behaving truthfully under imagined circumstances”. But when the film set can be so industrial and clinical that can be difficult, so how does the actor prepare and relax before the director shouts “Action!”. This intro to screen acting short course is a great insight to what it takes to be a screen actor. Learn tricks of the trade in a practical way using scripts and in front of the lens.

What will you achieve?
Students will acquire the knowledge, tools and an understanding of the technical requirements to act on camera.
How will you be taught?
A mix of lecture-style, demonstration, and practical instruction with tutor guidance. The class will be very practical, so comfortable clothing is required. The course will be taught by our Performing arts Lecturer Matthew Corbett (BA Hons, MA)
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for total beginners and even actors wanting to revisit and expand to their craft. This is a very fun and practical workshop so is great for anyone wanting to play and learn something new.
