Al-Manar International School

AL-MANAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL was established in the year 2000 by a professionally qualified, experienced and well – disciplined person who wanted to produce better disciplined, well mannered and qualified youth who could occupy responsible positions and hold leadership courageously in their societies in future.

On the 20th of September 2000, We started AL-MANAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL with only 27 students and few teachers. The location was the ground floor of the owner’s resident. We did not have some of the basic requirements that an educational institution should have, but like a seed planted on a dry soil without a drop of water started showing hard to grow amongst thorn and bushes to become one of the leading Secondary International Schools in the Colombo district.

The proficiency level and the skills required in a language depends on listening , speaking , reading and writing abilities in that language. Therefore , we started in the early stage of our education these four basic skills. The student population began to grow by heaps and bounds and it resulted in the increase to 500 within two years period.

The next stage of development was that the boys had to be shifted to another separate location in a four stories building within Dematagoda. Thereafter the Secondary girls section too was shifted to another peaceful location at Baseline road, Dematagoda, Colombo – 09. AL-MANAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL is a well Established Secondary School where a strict disciplinary code is enforced.

In AL-MANAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, our students enjoy great lab facilities. This includes well-designed Science Lab and also well-organized Computer Lab. Not only that, we also provide good library facility for our students.
