MSc Cyber Security and Emerging Threats
The MSc Cyber Security and Emerging Threats programme will provide students with intensive practical training and a profound theoretical education which covers strategic and organisational issues alongside the technicalities of network security. Students will be prepared to take roles such as training specialists, systems and business analysis managers or university lecturers and work in: programming, telecommunications engineering, network management, and computer and network security. The programme is designed in response to the increasing demand for cybersecurity solutions due to the rise in security issues.
Students will focus on critically evaluating the needs for security provisions using the security policies and regulations, analysing and evaluating security applications and techniques, and proposing new measures to improve security. They will develop the ability to: analyse possible security risks that a communication system might face and recommend possible solutions; evaluate new threats and implement solutions to combat them; make functional security designs and implement them successfully thus empowering them for their future careers.

The MSc Cyber Security and Emerging Threats programme is studied over one year on a full time basis and two years on a part time basis. The programme is divided into study units called modules. A module is a unit of study with credits according to the subject and nature of learning. Students take 180 credits, with each 30 credit module representing approximately 300 hours of student learning, endeavour and assessment.
