As universities and colleges reel with the uncertainties brought on by the pandemic, educational consultancy Qadri International still believes that they have an important role to play in connecting prospective students with universities that best suit their needs and budgets. Edarabia spoke with Dr Muhammad Qadri, CEO of Qadri International to learn how his consultancy navigated these uncertain times and what lies ahead.
Regardless of the impact that the pandemic has left on higher education sectors, universities are still seeking out students who are willing to study abroad. Universities have organized substitute methods to attain and process the student applications, conduct interviews, classes, and manage all other aspects of offering higher education during this situation. Hence, companies like Qadri International that provide study abroad services still possess significant roles that support the universities and students interested in pursuing their further studies internationally. Companies like ours will act as intermediaries that connect universities to students through the implementation of procedures that are safe, smooth, and effective in meeting the requirements of both parties.
Although the pandemic did influence it, there is no particular shift in student demand for higher education in Western or English-speaking countries. However, unfortunately, many were affected as they were either forced to become redundant or faced a reduction in income, causing people to become further interested in more affordable universities. Said change had people selecting universities in countries like Eastern Europe, Malaysia, Georgia, or Russia, providing quality education at prices not exceeding their budgets. Nonetheless, there was no negative impact on our business because of the change but improving it since we are known for assisting people with different income levels and various social categories.
Higher education institutions have recently moved their classes and assessments from online to blended learning and are no longer providing a reduction in tuition fees. However, they have now extended the flexibility of the payments allowing them to pay in installments throughout the academic year. Consequently, this will improve the demand as many students will apply to universities, primarily where fee payment is flexible.
There are now the options of either having the counseling session online through Zoom meetings or having physical in-office meetings with the students. Moreover, through virtual education expos and career fairs, we provide mediums for universities and students to engage with and meet members of different universities that will help them choose and decide based on their requirements on what they desire to pursue in their future.
These unprecedented times that we currently face do not hinder the long-term goals set for the success of Qadri International. As we come into our 35th year of service, we aim to expand our borders and continue as the No.1 international educational consultancy in the Middle East by catering to various social and income categories that require our services. We aspire to provide supreme services and guidance to candidates interested yet unable to reach their desired universities or decide what they wish to pursue. We plan to achieve this by personally approaching and aiding students in need of these services to ensure that they get into universities that are the best fitting and based on their preferences.
