The programme for students aged 6 to 11 is very important for a child’s development of healthy and successful habits, routines and attitudes to study and life.
During these years they will develop a sense of creativity, curiosity about the world about them, care and respect for others as well as independence in thinking, study skills and time management.
Families have a choice between a bilingual programme (English/French) or a fully anglophone programme.
The PYP (Primary Years Programme) best prepares students for the IB Middle Years Programme because of the seamless continuation of IB themes, values and competencies taught throughout the school.
One of the objectives of the PYP is to create an interesting, relevant, stimulating and meaningful interdisciplinary curriculum for learners between the ages of 6 and 11. At EIM, we teach age and developmentally appropriate themed units across our subjects that embed these skills and IB Learner Profile attributes.
More information about PYP teaching and curricula can be found on the IBO web pages: https://www.ibo.org/programmes/primary-years-programme/curriculum/
