The British School of Bahrain Infant School is a safe, secure and happy environment where diversity is celebrated and where, as one student put it "We look after one another".

Although teaching and learning is taken very seriously indeed, there is no doubt that a sense of humor is a vital component of the BSB Infant School's ethos. Children are very much treated as individuals with their own strengths, weaknesses and quirks. Teachers are approachable and genuinely interested in children. It would be rare to see any teacher or assistant crossing the playground at break time without stopping for an informal chat with a group of children.

By the time they move up to the BSB Junior School children are secure in themselves as individuals, enthusiastic collaborators and open communicators. Visitors to the school often comment that children come across as sociable, unspoiled and in some ways refreshingly unsophisticated.

When they embark on their BSB journey in their Nursery Year, children learn to think, reason and explore through play. They are scaffolded, supported and challenged by caring, experienced teachers to primarily develop their social skills, language and physical development. When ready, children are stretched in literacy, maths, the creative arts and understanding of the world. A spirit of enquiry is encouraged and permeates the Nursery. A rigorous pre-reading curriculum in Nursery, prepares children for high attainment in reading in their Reception year. The curriculum is dynamic and responsive to the needs and interests of the children. Cross curricular links are made wherever possible to make learning meaningful for the children. Much thought is given to making learning engaging and fun. Children are fortunate to be taught by subject specialists for Arabic, PE, music and the performing arts.
