Bridge Design Engineer

Our bridge team in the Middle East is experiencing exciting growth and we have a need for a Bridge Design Engineer, who is committed to participating in the delivery of major bridge schemes throughout the Middle East. You will be working on a number of high-profile projects, including long-span crossings, international bridges, architecturally led bridge designs, design and build schemes, and local authority commissions.

The bridge team provides technical support for all major projects in the Middle East. The team closely connects with the global delivery centre and has a good track record of delivering projects through work sharing. As a successful candidate you will provide technical design inputs and manage elements of the delivery.   Your duties will be to:

• To contribute to delivering bridge projects on time, on budget, and quality, and to the client’s requirements.
• Liaison with the team member to develop technical solutions.
• Delivering sound design solutions, including technical ones that meet client requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with management.

Here’s What You’ll Need

As a successful candidate Recognized degree with a specialization in Civil/Structural Engineering. Master’s degree in structure preferred. You will also possess:

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience.
• Proficient in using software/tools associated with structural modeling (MIDAS, RM, Structural bridge design) and BIM.
• Good knowledge of Euro codes, DMRB and AASHTO.
• Thorough knowledge of international specifications and GCC authorities/local municipality requirements.
• Experience in design and build schemes would be preferred.
• Flexibility to undertake short-term assignments in GCC countries would be preferred.
• A team player with an open and approachable nature who strives to help and inspire others within the team.
• Tenacity, drive, and determination.
• Good communication skills with the ability to develop client relationships are desirable.
• Progressing towards achieving membership/accreditation of an appropriate engineering council or body.
