Brasilia International School Brazil

Brasilia International School is a private school established to primarily serve the international community in Brasilia. The goal of BIS is to provide a high-quality U.S. style education based on a Biblical worldview. Students from all countries, cultures, and religions are treated with respect and fairness, including the Federal Republic of Brazil, its leaders, and the people. The programs at BIS are directed toward individual enrichment in the following areas: Intellectual, Social, Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Development.

BIS believes that each student is a unique creation of infinite worth. Each student is encouraged to pursue academic excellence. The school recognizes that student abilities and learning styles differ from one individual to the next. These differences are taken into consideration in the educational process. By providing a low student-teacher ratio, BIS helps each student achieve his/her full potential. Students are encouraged to make wise choices as they interact with their peers and their teachers within the school community. As students learn to behave responsibly at school, they gain necessary life skills to become successful, contributing leaders who will positively impact the world.

Brasilia International School is a member of the global school system known as the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS). BIS is one of eighteen NICS schools in fifteen different countries.

Like all schools that are members of NICS, BIS is a non-denominational organization that provides a high quality North-American style of education in English. The curriculum provides an excellent foundation for continued studies in other international schools and post-secondary studies in the United States, Canada, England and other countries that follow a similar academic structure.

Brasilia International School is a caring learning community based on a Biblical worldview. BIS prepares international students to be life-long learners, effective communicators, responsible citizens, healthy people, and spiritually sensitive individuals.

BIS endeavors to partner with parents in their role to instruct their children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). In this partnership, BIS commits to providing a dynamic, challenging, and holistic education that recognizes the personal uniqueness of each student and develops them into the person they were created to be. To reach one’s God-given potential, there must be an inner transformation that takes place. When that happens, boys and girls, young men and women are not only transformed, but they begin to impact the world around them. Nothing gives us more pleasure, aside from salvation in Christ, when God receives glory in and through students’ lives.

There are four core values and seven additional principles by which BIS operates. These core values are the bedrock of our school ministry for our administrative leadership, educational approach, extracurricular activities, sports programs, and family events.
