The International School of Islamabad (ISOI)

The International School of Islamabad (ISOI) is a private, coeducational, college-preparatory day school. The students, parents and staff are diverse culturally. The campus is located on 23+ acres on the outskirts of Islamabad. The gift of space allows our students, parents and faculty to enjoy dedicated academic, sporting and play areas interspersed with quiet green spaces.

ISOI is very proud to be an IB World School. ISOI offers the IB Diploma Programme, which is well-established as the hallmark of a rigorous, inquiry-based instructional curriculum throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. The IBDP is recognized by educational authorities throughout the world as one of the best college preparatory programs. ISOI is also an authorized PYP School, offering the Primary Years Programme.

ISOI has been serving the diplomatic and expatriate community of Islamabad and Rawalpindi for over 55 years. ISOI has been continuously accredited by the Middles States Association of Colleges and Schools since 1979. Our community is committed to following a Strategic Plan. Strategic planning is a collaborative process through which the entire school community defines our core beliefs, determines our shared mission and vision, and creates the Plan to achieve that vision. The Planning Team consists of parents, students, teachers, support staff, alumni, board members and administrators.

ISOI is honored to have been invited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools to use the prestigious Sustaining Excellence Protocol for its current re-accreditation cycle. In today’s world, it is essential that students develop rigorous intellectual curiosity. As part of the Sustaining Excellence Protocol, ISOI will be researching how best to enable our students to internalize this soft skill for future success.

ISOI has long been a leader in International Schools. ISOI was the pilot school for the Near East South Asia Virtual School. ISOI’s virtual school initiatives have become the model for other schools around the world. The program has grown to become the World Virtual School. ISOI was also one of the ten pilot schools for the MAP North West Education Association Assessment Project to establish international school norms for the MAP assessment. ISOI is a founding member of the IBPAK, the International Baccalaureate Association Pakistan, and an integral partner with the IBO World Team guiding the development of IB Schools in the Asia Pacific Regional. We continue to innovate, reflect and refine teaching at ISOI and believe our research into helping students acquire essential soft skills will benefit our students.
