A love and care for children drove Mrs. Kirsten to start a small play group in the garage and garden of her home. Starting with 6 children, the group began to grow and space became limited. With continued success and growth, in 1993 the School's name was changed from Tiny Tots to St. Nicholas School and the house in Pinheiros became the new home to students, staff and learning.
The 21st Century poses fantastic new problems as well as exciting new possibilities where a new definition of the educated person will focus on the multiple literacies of the 21st Century.

All our students are enrolled with the Ministry of Education (MEC). Portuguese language and literature are taught along with História and Geografia. Students must meet MEC requirements in order to graduate with a Brazilian Certificate, offering them access to local alongside international universities.
As an IB World School, we are authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer the Primary Years Programme (Pinheiros and Alphaville Campus), Middle Years Programme (Alphaville Campus) and the IB Diploma Programme (Pinheiros Campus).
The school is also accredited by the Brazilian Education Ministry (MEC). The Portuguese language, alongside Brazilian culture, literature, geography and history occupy a prominent place in the school’s curriculum alongside international elements and perspectives, so as to honour the diverse nature of the school.
Throughout each key stage in students’ learning, the school offers a vibrant and innovative education which inspires and challenges our students to develop a love of learning.
