BIBS’ unique international bilingual curriculum is jointly developed by a group of outstanding Chinese and international education professionals.  After more than 20 years of exploration, we ensure an organic fusion of the IB framework and the core courses from the Chinese National Education Program. We pick the essence of Chinese and Western cultures and fuse these elements together, and offer a true international bilingual curriculum that best suits the Chinese students’ development needs.

BIBS utilizes the Tai Chi diagram to show the core elements of Chinese and Western education models. The unity of knowing and doing and win-win cooperation in Chinese education, as well as the individualized development and innovation in Western education, are what makes BIBS most unique.

Under the IB curriculum framework, BIBS boldly incorporates the Chinese course into the IB curriculum, and adopts bilingual teaching with integration of Chinese and Western culture. All these allowed BIBS form a unique 'international bilingual' teaching feature.

At BIBS, the Chinese course attaches great importance to cultivating of reading ability and comprehension, developing a positive cultural understanding and identity, and combining the power of the humanities, of history and philosophy together with the depth of language and literature.

Extracurricular activities are defined as the activities that enable to supplement and complement the curricular or main syllabi activities. These are the very important part and parcel of educational institutions to develop the students’ personality as well as to strengthen classroom learning.

These activities are organized after school hours, so known as co-curricular activities. Extracurricular activities have a wide horizon to cater to the cultural, social, aesthetic development of the child.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) has been a crucial part of the BIBS curriculum. At Elementary School this is integrated by teachers into the overall program of students. Year 6 to Year 10 students receive a special program developed by our school psychologists to meet their needs. The aim of SEL is to introduce students to a range of topics around relationships and emotional development so they can discuss issues and develop their emotional awareness and maturity over time. Covid 19 has made particular demands upon our school psychologists to meet student needs through their SEL classes.
