Oil and gas Law

This course is designed to help clients gain a comprehensive understanding of key commercial transactions and contracts within the oil and gas sector. Participants will be equipped with knowledge about the various types of contracts and commercial arrangements typically used during the exploration and production (upstream) and the sale (downstream) of oil and gas.

Objective

• Understand Key Contracts: Develop a solid grasp of essential commercial contracts used in the upstream and some downstream sectors.
• Learn Contractual Rationale and Structure: Understand the commercial rationale, purpose, and structure of these contracts.
• Identify Legal Issues: Gain detailed knowledge of a wide range of legal issues and problems that arise under these contracts and learn how major legal systems, such as English law, resolve these issues.
• Evaluate Contractual Solutions: Develop the ability to assess the strengths and weaknesses of different contractual solutions for various issues and problems.
• Understand Legal Frameworks: Gain an understanding of the relevant legal frameworks of major legal regimes, such as English law and the UN Sales Convention.
