HiGA (Hiroshima Global Academy) will be completing its sixth year of Reiwa with three junior high school years and three high school years, making a total of six grades. All students and faculty will work together more than ever to further promote "learning transformation," so we ask for your continued support.
Our school is a boarding school that opened in April 2019 with the vision of "educating leaders who can create a better future for the local community and the world, anywhere in the world, for sustainable peace and development in society."
Students who enroll at our school from junior high school come from all over Japan, from Hiroshima Prefecture in the north to Hokkaido in the south, and even Okinawa Prefecture in the south. In addition, students who enroll from high school include students of nationalities such as Mexico, Uganda, India, Ghana, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Italy, Sweden, and China, as well as international students who have studied in these countries. In this environment where students from diverse backgrounds unlike any other in the country gather, we realize that our students value both a "global perspective" and a "community-based heart," and that they grow by stimulating each other.
The main feature of our school is that, as an accredited school of the IB (International Baccalaureate) educational program (MYP: Middle Years Programme, DP: Diploma Programme), we promote inquiry-based learning using this program as the main tool. In the five years since the school opened, our school has been refining its educational practice of MYP (1st year of junior high school to December 1st year of high school), and all of our teachers and staff have been passionately supporting students who are working hard on the tough studies of DP (January 1st year of high school to 3rd year of high school). This year, the first class will finally take on the challenge of realizing their desired career path as a culmination of their learning so far. I sincerely hope that the results of the efforts that each student has made will bear great fruit.
Another feature is the dormitory life, which supports the mental and physical growth of students from the ground up. From now on, the faculty and dormitory staff will work together to firmly support the students' lives, so that the dormitory will be a place where students can support each other, learn together, and live safe and secure lives beyond the barriers of grade and culture, through intercultural communal living with students from different grades from junior high school to high school, as well as a multinational group including international students.
This year, Hiroshima Eichi Gakuen Junior and Senior High School will continue to hone its students through both inquiry-based learning using the IB to support their studies and dormitory life with students of different grades and cultures to support their daily lives, aiming to cultivate leaders who can survive resiliently in a rapidly changing and unpredictable society and create a "better future" for the community and society. We would appreciate your continued understanding of our educational activities, as well as your support and cooperation.

We will create a "learning community" that values both a "global perspective" and a "local mindset" and continues to learn independently.
