Established in 1976, we are the oldest and only non-profit international school in Manila offering a British education for students from Nursery (age 3) up to Year 13 (age 18). Each year we welcome more than 950 students from 50 + nationalities.
The British School Manila was established in 1976 in the old Union Church with only 36 students. Over the course of almost fifty years, the school has grown, developed and evolved into what it is today.
Comprising of Primary School and Senior School, our campus is open, airy and family-friendly, encouraging students to interact with other Year groups, supporting close engagement with our UK and Commonwealth trained teaching staff, and nurturing home and school partnerships.
Our community spirit is vibrant and you can see it come alive even during weekends when we host a multitude of events and activities for our students. This vibrance is especially evident when our community comes together to support our community service initiatives and fundraising events for our partner charities.
Internationally Outstanding Results
BSM students have a history of high academic achievement, compared to most UK schools and international schools in the Philippines and Asia. Generally, all of our students are entered for IGCSEs, GCSEs and the International Baccalaureate (full Diploma or Certificates).
Our school is located in pedestrian-friendly Bonifacio Global City, a modern financial district, with outstanding access to family-friendly restaurants, shops and other facilities. High Street is the hub and is frequently used for international festivals, showcasing music, art and culture.
With the ease and comfort that BGC’s area provides, most of our teaching staff live within walking distance of our school and our students enjoy the privilege of a special exit and walking pass which supports their sense of independence.
Accreditations
The British School Manila (BSM) is fully accredited with the Council of International Schools (CIS), the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Council of British International Schools (COBIS).
BSM partnered with CIS, WASC, AND COBIS as accreditation bodies because we view them as the most robust accreditation bodies available to international schools. Accreditation with CIS, WASC, and COBIS endorses and ensures the quality of education provided by BSM while supporting our focus on school improvement.
BSM is a member of several prominent international and regional education groups and organisations. We are a founding and active member of FOBISIA and are also affiliated to a number of organisations that enhance the opportunities that are provided for our students and staff for the development of the school.
