Boracay European International School

Boracay European International School (BEIS) is a non-profit, co-educational, international school that uses English as the language of instruction. BEIS was founded in 2008 by a group of parents whose mission was to provide high quality programs using international standards for students of various nationalities living in Boracay.

The school presently offers programs from Nursery to Grade 8. BEIS began in partnership with the German European School Manila. We are fully accredited under the Philippines Department of Education to provide instruction in both elementary and secondary education. Today, BEIS is proud of its growth and progress made over the last thirteen years.

At present, the campus has 10 classrooms, an Information Communication Technology (ICT) laboratory equipped with computers and flat screen monitors, an outdoor gymnasium and an air-conditioned school bus. Our school employs experienced, qualified, and creative educators from many nationalities and backgrounds to provide the best possible education for our students. BEIS is committed to a Continuous Quality Improvement Process.

We offer an inquiry based programme which follows the Common Core Standards. The high expectations of this cohesive educational plan helps prepare our students for the rigours of their academic future, including high-school, IGCSE, IBO-Diploma Program or vocational or international colleges.

This will serve as a guide to help you understand our academic programme, the activities we offer and our strong sense of community. It will also give you a sense of the environment of our campus which is strategically located on undoubtedly the most beautiful island in the Philippines.

In addition to this we have wonderful, well qualified and friendly staff. Our faculty is made up of both international and Filipino educators who recognise the need to promote student commitment to learning. We strive to expose children to diverse perspectives, expand individual experiences and provide opportunities for them to share their questions and thoughts with others. Our goal as international educators, is to ensure we deliver high quality educational instruction to all our students.

We grew up in Lincolnshire in the North East of England. We received my Bachelor of Arts and Post Graduate in Education from the University of Essex and the University of Leeds. After working for several years in the United Kingdom, We pursued an international teaching career in Greece, Japan and then Manila. In Manila We worked at the European International School (EIS) as Head of the International Section, a position We held for 10 years. Finally We moved to Boracay in 2017 having worked internationally for over 22 years.

Our educational program is designed to develop the understanding, skills and attitudes that support a life-long love of learning, academic excellence and a sense of open-mindedness and responsible citizenship.

BEIS curriculum includes the skills, knowledge and expertise students must master to succeed in work and life in the 21st century; it is a blend of content knowledge, specific skills, social and communicative competences. BEIS curriculum promotes understanding of academic content by weaving interdisciplinary themes into its programs.
