Kafr el-Sheikh University

Kafrelsheikh University was established by republican decree No 129 for the year 2006 after it was a branch to Tanta since 1983, including eight faculties such as Agriculture, Commerce, Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Arts, Specific Education and Sportive Education. On 22/4/2009, the Faculty of Science was established to complete the number of faculties to be nine faculties. Despite its short life in construction, it has taken great strides and fast on both scientific and urban sides, but it is not in the required level of ambitions of province sons.

In November 2011, Prof Dr Maged el Kemary is appointed by elections Kafrelsheikh University President. The university plans to introduce new six faculties, one of them is the Faculty of Pharmacy. As well, the university gets the approval of the council of ministers for the establishment of the Faculty of Fisheries and the approval of the supreme council of universities for the establishment of the Faculties of Nursing and Physical Therapy as well as the Faculty of Dentistry for the service of citizens.

On the other hand, the university begins immediately to maximize the benefit of the available possibilities by rehabilitating and redesigning constructions existing in the university or under construction for being specialized for the faculties of Nursing, Physical Therapy and Medicine as well as temporary building for the Faculty of Pharmacy and another for the Faculty of Fisheries. As well, the university is about to construct new building for the faculties of Pharmacy, Dentistry, hospital university, the Faculty of Specific Education, the Faculty of Fisheries and the second stage of the Faculty of Engineering (workshops building). It notified some faculties to provide staff members as well as opening the door for appointing some scientific cadres of staff members and assistant staff. Not only is our role in the achievement of new constructions, but the university rebuilds all old university buildings of faculties, auditoriums and student housing.

The University is public governmental university, founded in 2006 by the Presidential decree No.129. It includes 10 faculties, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Education, Commerce, Engineering, Specific Education, Arts, Physical Education, Science and Pharmacy. All the university buildings are connected with the Egyptian network of the universities and well stocked libraries are found in each faculty provided with text books and periodicals which cover several disciplines. All classrooms, labs and lecture halls are fully equipped with scientific equipments and data show. All buildings are surrounded by green areas and wide roads.

Faculty of Agriculture has a number of unique labs in all fields of agricultural sciences. Each academic department has its own specialized lab for teaching and research purposes. As part of the tireless efforts of the faculty towards quality assurance and academic accreditation, central lab of environmental studies and central lab of plant pathology and biotechnology were established in order to integrate the applied research among the various faculties in the university.

The student takes the exams in Kafresheikh University. Kafrelsheikh University in collaboration with Open Education Center in Cairo University offers the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degrees From Cairo University.

Kafrelsheikh University has received the attention of international collaboration with international scientific organization in Germany, Japan, Romania, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Russia, Syria and China. There are seven concurrent joint research projects with foreign research organizations. During the last few years, KFS University has invited famous international academicians, experts and professors as guest professors.

The Student Center offers students, faculty, and staff a place to sit back and relax, gather a group to study or grab a bite to eat. With multiple dining locations, the University Bookstore, Gem, Jacuzzi, Sauna, Bowling, Billiards, Squash, Basket ball and ATM stations all under one roof, the Students Center can make the practical side of University life a breeze. Also, there are open stadiums for training and having some fun. These stadiums consist of : basket ball, volley ball, handball, tines and foot ball.

The sportive activity is one of important activities accepted by students as it satisfies the students' desires due to multiple fields which are consistent with his/her tendency. Sportive activity management carries out many sportive activities inside university on university clubs or outside activities with other Egyptian universities.

Kafrelsheikh University has six dormitories for students which fully equipped with showers, washing facilities, refrigerators and internet access. Moreover , there is a guest house for the staff members, assistant staff and foreigners which fully equipped with showers, washing facilities, refrigerators and internet access.

Kafrelsheikh University succeeded in being within the first hundred universities in Arab and Africa after university classification passes more than six thousand Arab and African universities through the last year as it achieves No 9 over Egyptian universities No 56 over Africa as well as No 3589 internationally in July 2012.
