Hawar International School

Hawar International School (HIS) was established in 2001 by a group of dedicated Bahraini professionals wishing to provide a bilingual education of excellence from Nursery and KG to Grade 12 in a learner friendly environment while preserving the culture and heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic society.

Hawar International School is an IB World School authorized for IB Diploma Programme. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high-quality programs of international education that share a powerful vision.

Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

HIS provides special needs education and facilities for students with physical and learning needs to help support them during their education. HIS put great emphasis on nurturing skills and encouraging important life values. HIS aims to ensure that each pupil gets a well-rounded education that will equip them for the challenges faced in the world today and for tomorrow.

We are achievement-focused and we encourage each child and adult within our community to reach their personal best, both academically and in all aspects of their lives, and to develop a lifelong love of enquiry and learning. We provide our students with close academic monitoring and supportive pastoral care. We take a whole-child approach, with a focus on balance and a healthy lifestyle, and we encourage the constructive and positive contribution and support of parents.
