Abu Dhabi, UAE: As part of its continuous efforts to elevate the career journey of its staff and faculty, Abu Dhabi University’s (ADU) held its Annual Appreciation Ceremony on its Abu Dhabi campus. During the ceremony, ADU’s leadership, faculty and staff celebrated key achievements that have led to establishing the university’s position as a leading academic institution in UAE and wider MENA region.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of the University’s leadership including Professor Waqar Ahmad, Chancellor of ADU, His Excellency Salem Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of Community Relations at ADU, Professor Thomas J. Hochstettler, Provost of ADU, Dr Hamad Odhabi, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Financial Affairs as well as Professor Philip Hamill, Associate Provost, Student Success at ADU. The event welcomed deans of colleges, heads of departments, and hundreds of faculty and staff members.

During the ceremony, faculty members presented key achiy The Amevements and accreditation recognitions awarded to ADU in the last three years. This included ADU’s institutional reaccreditation berican Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), one of the six regional accrediting agencies in the USA, the EQUIS reaccreditation for our College of Business, and APHEA accreditation for the program in public health. With these (re)accreditations, ADU remains in the forefront of universities in the region for prestigious professional body accreditations. The event also celebrated ADU’s accomplishments in obtaining a QS 5 Stars rating over all, an additional QS 5 Star rating for online learning, QS ranking of 651-700, and entering the QS business and management subject ranking at 501-550.
Abu Dhabi University takes pride in the quality of its faculty and invests in their development. The University celebrated the achievement of Fellowships of the Higher Education Academy by 31 faculty members, including four Senior Fellowships. Additionally, Professor Philip Hamill, Associate Provost, Research and Academic Development (ADU), received the highly prized Principal Fellowship, the HEA’s highest award for leadership in academic practice.
ADU’s partnerships with world-leading educational bodies around the world were celebrated at the event. ADU continues to introduce unique exchange programs and strengthen research collaborations with prestigious institutions around the world, with partners including Monash University, Arizona State University, Trinity College Dublin, the University of Toronto, University College Dublin, and many others.
During the event, Professor Waqar Ahmad, Chancellor of ADU said: “Under the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership, ADU continues to provide an outstanding educational experience to students and provide faculty with unique opportunities to develop their careers.
