AKCENT College

AKCENT College s.r.o. is a private college which offers a study programme of Specialization in Pedagogy in the following fields: English as a Foreign Language and Czech as a Foreign Language.The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports’ verdict to grant state approval to AKCENT College s.r.o. to operate as a private non-university college, according to § 39 Law n. 111/1998 Col. (Higher Education Act) came into effect on 8th August 2008.

Both companies, connected via the position of the director, signed an ‘Agreement regarding provision of parts of instruction’ that binds them to future cooperation, especially in these areas:

• AKCENT IH Prague will provide classes for the teaching practice of AKCENT College s.r.o. students.
• AKCENT IH Prague will provide language lessons for AKCENT College s.r.o. students (English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Czech).

AKCENT College s.r.o. focuses on training instructors for language teaching to adults and offers a full-time three-year Bachelor programme called Specialization in Pedagogy.Full-time study programme is designed for students keen to learn English and about English. The programme is ideal for those interested in teaching English to adult students in the Czech Republic or abroad.

It is designed to shape intercultural awareness of students and faculties by increasing their mobility.Students in their second year of study can participate in the Erasmus exchange programme, spending one or two semesters at the hosting institution.Akcent College has implemented the European Credit Transfer System and recognises credits obtained at the partner institution. Successful applicants receive a Student Mobility grant (on a monthly basis) throughout the Erasmus mobility period.Within its involvement in the Erasmus exchange programme, Akcent College offers courses for international applicants studying at partner institutions. Students can choose from the list of courses delivered in English.
