Al Ain British Academy, one of academies under Aldar Education, a leading education provider in the UAE, is making history with record-breaking academic achievements and world-class student success. The academy continues to push the boundaries of excellence, securing some of the highest A-Level and GCSE results while fostering extraordinary talent across academics, literature, and global competitions.
Sahar Cooper, CEO of Aldar Education, highlighted the significance of these achievements, stating, “Al Ain British Academy is a beacon of academic excellence, embodying the UAE’s vision for a world-class education system. Our students are not only excelling in examinations but also making a global impact with their talents. Their accomplishments reaffirm our commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience that nurtures innovation, leadership, and character.”
Al Ain British Academy is the only school in Abu Dhabi to achieve the Curiosity Approach accreditation for Nursery. It is also the first Aldar Education school to receive the ACE Character Education Kitemark for outstanding values and the first school in Al Ain to be rated Outstanding by British Schools Overseas (BSO). These recognitions are reflected in the academy’s exceptional student achievements. Anooshay Khan earned the highest iGCSE mark in the world in English Literature. Hamza ElHattab secured the highest iGCSE marks in the UAE for Chemistry, Further Pure Mathematics, and Physics. Maya Nourse-Grewal achieved the highest A-Level mark in the world for History and the highest in the Middle East for Geography and English.
Beyond academics, Al Ain British Academy is home to multiple Guinness World Record holders. Emirati siblings AlDhabi, Saeed, and AlMaha Almheiri have collectively broken eight world records in publishing. At just seven years old, AlDhabi became the world’s youngest person to publish a bilingual book series (female). Inspired by her success, four-year-old Saeed followed suit, breaking two world records in 2023 for the youngest person to publish a book (male) and the youngest person to publish a book series (male). Not to be outdone, their younger sister, AlMaha, made history in 2024 by becoming the youngest person to publish a book (female) and the youngest person to publish a book series (female) at just three years old. More recently, AlDhabi has been announced as the youngest ever to be a newspaper columnist (female) and youngest magazine columnist (female) also. Their remarkable literary achievements showcase the academy’s role in fostering creativity, perseverance, and leadership from an early age.
In terms of global recognition, students at Al Ain British Academy have achieved remarkable milestones, including Raya Khaled and Mariam Al Khaili, the only Emirati student, to reach the finals of the World Scholars Cup at Yale and Harvard University in 2024. Zak Takriti, a winner in the “Voices of Future Generations” competition, has also been nationally recognised for his achievement.
According to Ian Pugh, Principal of Al Ain British Academy, a key factor in the school’s success is its high teacher retention rate, which is well below the international school turnover average of 25 percent. “The long-term stability and continuity of our teachers have had a profound impact on students’ well-being and academic performance,” said Pugh. “Our mission is to cultivate an environment where students feel challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve their best. This is evident in the outstanding results our students and educators continue to achieve.”
With a “Very Good” rating from ADEK, Al Ain British Academy is recognized for its commitment to excellence in education. Since its establishment in 2011, the academy has provided a world-class British curriculum for students from FS1 to Year 13, fostering a culture of academic and personal excellence. This approach helps develop students who are confident, empathetic, and capable of achieving outstanding accomplishments across various fields, from sports and robotics to Quranic competitions and charitable initiatives. These achievements reflect Aldar Education’s commitment to delivering high-quality education aligned with the UAE’s visionary leadership, which places education at the heart of its development strategies. The goal is to nurture generations equipped to excel on the global stage while contributing hand-in-hand to a progressive knowledge-based society led by creative and future-ready individuals.
