Al Falaah College

Al-Falaah College is a South African, co-educational, Independent Islamic school that has established itself as a centre of excellence committed to providing a holistic education in an environment which is infused with Islamic values. Catering for the educational needs of students from Grades 00 to Grade 12 in the Durban area, the College environment nurtures the innate ability of all students to explore and discover their Allah-given talent and achieve their full potential. Al-Falaah College is proud of its 100% Matric pass rate, 100% bachelor passes. 43% of Students achieved Distinction aggregates. Al-Falaah College has 225 Subject Distinctions with 3.3 Distinctions per learner.

Physical Education and Sport is seen an an important component for the balanced development of learners We offer an extended sports program within the school day by qualified coaches for each code of sport An Elite squad training program is offered after school and on weekends for all ages Inter school matches are arranged on a regular basis Participation in all tournaments organised by the Association of Muslim Schools (AMS)

The vision and mission of the school is centralised around Islamic Teachings. Our daily programme includes:

• Quraan recitals in the morning
• Morning Nasiha and duaa
• Zuhr Salaah in jamaat for all learners

Hifz classes are offered for both boys and girls. Classes are conducted from before the normal school day, continue during the school day and extends till after the normal school times. Taraweeh salaah is also performed during Ramadan by the school learners at school.

The dress code for learners is based on an Islamic ethos. Educators are also required to dress in a manner that is in keeping with the ethos of the school. As far as possible, high school boys and girls are kept separated.

Islamic Studies (Written and Oral) as well as Arabic form a compulsory component of the timetable for all grades. Educators are also encouraged to include Islamic content into all other learning areas. Special events such as Jalsa's, Tarbiyyah and outreach programmes are also held throughout the year.
