Al-Furqan Community College as a possible future secondary school for your child. At Al-Furqan we believe that it is important to value the contributions of all members of our community. We place great value on a triangular partnership between parents, teachers and students in the education of our young people and this manifests itself in many areas of the school life. The vast majority of parents are very supportive and know that we offer a safe, secure Islamic environment where their children can flourish.

Al-Furqan Community College offers excellent teaching for Girls 11-16 years of age with small class sizes of a maximum of 12 students. The school is registered with the Department for Education (DfE) as a single gender Girls school. The school operates from our Solihull campus.

We have high expectations from our students. We want them to grow up with confidence and an enthusiasm for learning, to enjoy success without losing humility, and to strive for the highest standards possible in everything they do without a fear of failure, and without being under undue pressure. We want them to respect themselves and each other.

In a rapidly changing world young people need high levels of self-esteem and confidence to be adaptable and tolerant. It is our task to aspire to nurture those strengths through the holistic development of the child by always stressing the point of excellence. We seek to provide a purposeful, caring, safe, secure and happy Islamic environment in which every student can discover and realise their full potential.

Our primary aim is very simple: we seek to provide a happy and secure Islamic ethos in which every student can grow and excel and where they can discover and realise their full potential, Insha'Allah. This is achieved by ensuring the highest educational achievements of which each student is capable are attained, by providing a broad and balanced education within the framework of the National Curriculum and the Islamic curriculum, regardless of racial origin, disability, gender or academic ability.

Our Objectives:

  • To establish an admissions criteria which is fair and objective to all irrespective of their faith.
  • To improve teaching and learning leading to high academic achievements for all students which will lead to their economic well being in years to come.
  • To improve the motivation of students and parental involvement by creating a positive learning environment which encourages lifelong learning, healthy lifestyles and the importance of making positive contributions to the local, national and global communities.
  • To improve material resources to support the delivery of the National Curriculum and the Islamic Curriculum (as defined by IBE)
  • To develop partnerships to support our vision and in addition provide an opportunity to foster good community relations, promote community cohesion and broaden our students experiences in relation to the different ways we all can contribute to modern British Society.
  • To provide a broad, balanced, rich and diverse curriculm with key focus on developing critical skills, key competencies and individualise learning for all to ensure that "EVERY STUDENT COUNTS."

Our school is distinctive within an Islamic ethos. We have a unique formula for success, that is, small school with small classes (maximum 12) and a high level of discipline and expectations are a recipe for success. Our students are provided with a balanced view of the society and the world they live in accompanied by opportunities to understand the place of their faith and of other faiths in their society and the world.

Our school has a unique individualized teaching and learning approach which reflects our commitment to finding the best possible way of meeting the educational needs of every child. Well qualified and highly committed staff always have high expectations of their students and are equipped to choose from a whole range of teaching methodologies to secure student success.
