Al-Ruya Bilingual School

Al Ru’ya Bilingual School (RBS) is a bilingual non-profit school founded in August 1996 with not more than 400 students and 50 employees gathered in a rented building in Hawally area. Since then, the school has written its success story and moved to its privately-owned building in Sabah Al-Salem area, in year 2000. Today, Al Ru’ya Bilingual School is home to over 2500 students and 468 employees.

Al Ru’ya Bilingual School adheres to the laws and regulations of the State of Kuwait and operates under the decrees and regulations issued by the Ministry of Education in Kuwait. The School Board abides by Kuwaiti laws and regulations in terms of its responsibility for founding, funding, and developing the school.

The school’s vision embraces an internationally recognized bilingual school built on the integration of Islamic and international humanistic values. This vision promotes respect and tolerance for others, which constitutes the foundation for the guiding vision of the school as well as the mission and philosophy in use today. RBS is licensed by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Education as a bilingual school. The school’s students are mainly Kuwaiti in addition to a small percentage of non-Kuwaiti students comprising 21 nationalities.

Al Ru’ya Bilingual School has been accredited by the Council of International Schools since 2008 and strives to achieve international recognition. The final award of CIS accreditation shows that the school has achieved high standards of professional performance in international education and has a commitment to continuous improvement. In particular, the award of accreditation shows that the school:

Al Ru’ya is a bilingual, national, educational institution, which delivers instruction in both Arabic and English from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. RBS is firmly committed to providing quality education to all students and therefore preparing them for higher education and lifelong learning.

Students are taught within a learning environment based on Arabic/Islamic culture, heritage, and values. At the same time, students develop respect and tolerance of other cultures.

RBS aims to develop the student as an individual and as a whole person. The school offers the students an educational program designed to meet their intellectual, social, ethical, emotional, and physical needs through all stages of development by providing a stimulating learning and safe environment for students, staff, and parents.
