Alex Klenam Quarshie, has taught Chemistry at Akatsi Senior High Technical School in the Volta Region of Ghana for over ten years and currently teaches the same subject at a training center in Dubai.
He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Ghana; a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and a certificate in Teaching and Educational Leadership from the Appalachian State University, North Carolina, U.S.A.
He was also the district coordinator of Science, Technology, Mathematics and Innovation Education (STMIE) for the Akatsi South District, Ghana.
Alex was the principal of Grooming Heights Montessori International School, Asaba, Nigeria, a former assistant Lecturer, Cuttington University College, Liberia and former partner Teacher, West Wilkes High School, North Carolina, U.S.A.
Mr. Quarshie involved, while in Ghana, in training Science Teachers for GAST (Ghana Association of Science Teachers) and for Teachers living in underserved Communities. He also does mobile laboratory Services to Schools in rural areas to make them experience the practical side of science.
In September 2017, Alex won a Fellowship award from the Department of State of the United States of America to participate in the prestigious Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program in Washington D.C., for his international professional development.
His greatest interest lies in coming out with innovative ideas for teaching Science to promote Science Education.
