We are a fully inclusive community school and we welcome children and families from a wide variety of backgrounds. Though there are currently children from 23 ethnic backgrounds who speak over 25 languages, we are one strong school community, united by a clear set of values ( we are a Beacon Peace Promoting School) and a very clear ambition. All children know what it means to be part of 'The Argyle Adventure' and they know how serious we are when we say that there is no limit to a child's potential and that we will challenge them to be the best that they can be!
If you are ambitious for your child, want them to love learning, be engaged, motivated and exposed to a wide variety of learning opportunities then you should contact our Admin office. Our team will be glad to answer any queries you have or will make an appointment to show you around. We look forward to meeting you.
Children learn about values primarily through everyday interaction with everyone in the school community. It is through modelling positive behaviour and values that we can all understand our expectations of each other and how we all want to be treated. To support this we have a structured approach to assemblies, and circle time that teach the values and encourage children to deepen their understanding of what the values mean to them.
Throughout academic year we promote the value of Peace and teach children about:
Our curriculum has been designed to:
Whilst ensuring that they develop very strong skills in English and Mathematics. The curriculum places an equal emphasis on knowledge and skills and has been designed to be progressive so that knowledge and skills taught in one unit are built upon in successive units. Wherever possible, cross curricular links are made so that pupils have time to explore a subject in some depth.
Excellent literature and high quality educational visits provide a structure to our curriculum ensuring that children read widely, are read to and physically experience an aspect of each curriculum topic.
The entire curriculum is underpinned by a clear set of values –excellence, collaboration, kindness, drive, compassion, respect, self-control, courage, responsibility, empathy and positivity. These values support pupils in identifying common themes in their learning and in making links between subjects.
Music and art are real strengths of our school and are used skilfully by teachers to bring humanities and science to life as well as being taught as discrete subjects. Our Modern Foreign language is Latin. This ensures the systematic teaching of spelling and grammar and further supports conceptual understanding in history, maths and science.
Oracy is taught across the curriculum from our Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 6. Children learn subject specific vocabulary and appropriate structures which support them to apply that vocabulary. They learn model texts by heart so that they develop a bank of high quality language. They are taught to explain their reasoning in all subjects, to develop an argument and debate an issue.
Throughout each year we use feedback from children and staff to refine the curriculum and further adapt it to meet the needs of current children and take advantage of any relevant special performances or exhibitions.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
Fantastic School. A friendly happy welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This school provides an excellent education from early years through to year 6. The staff are experienced, motivated and knowledgeable and provide a high standard of teaching, strong in the Arts and Sciences. Situated right in the heart of Kings Cross, the school takes advantage of being close to major scientific institutions (the Crick Institute), a technology giant (Google), the British Library and the Inns of Court. The school doesn't rest on its laurels and has a number of exciting developments coming soon.

Both my children attend Argyle, and I have nothing but praise for the teachers who work extremely hard to give each individual pupil the attention they require. I would recommend this school wholeheartedly! The sense of community is the thing I love most

I have been a parent at Argyle for the past 6 years. I love its ethos of growing and developing kind, curious, creative children into responsible citizens of the world. My children have learned not only maths and literacy, they have also learned about the environment, homelessness, Shakespeare and Latin. The art provision must be among the best in primary schools anywhere. My children have friends from every continent. This is a vibrant, inclusive and dynamic school.

This school is simply amazing!!
My daughter attended from Nursery right through to Year 6, the enrichment she received had a great impact upon the person she has become today.
Would I recommend this school...100%!!

My daughter attended this school and within the two years that she was there, her confidence had grown immensely. Her reading & writing became enriched with the influence of the creative surroundings within Argyle. As result my daughter has been selected for a Young Writers competition.

As a parent with a very able child, I have nothing but praise for the teaching staff at Argyle. I was initially worried that efforts would be focused on children with English as a second language with less attention given to my daughter. Nothing could be further than the truth, she has been challenged with the same expectation of achievement and fulfilment of her potential that is demanded and encouraged of every child, no matter their background or ability. They teach well beyond what is measured or tested and instead teach to the level the child is capable of. A positive, can-do atmosphere and highly recommended.
