We invite applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position from outstanding early-career scientists interested in biology at the smallest scales. Successful candidates are expected to develop a cutting edge experimental and/or theoretical/computational research program. In addition, we expect our new colleague to enthusiastically teach and help develop courses in our BSc and MSc programs.
We welcome applications in the entire range from nanophysics and biochemistry to synthetic- and cell biology. Successful candidates are also expected to interact synergistically with existing research groups. Current research activities include eukaryotic and prokaryotic cell biology, virology, biophysics, synthetic biology, synthetic cells and bionanotechnology.

At the start of the Tenure Track you will be appointed as Assistant Professor for the duration of six years. The Department Chair will agree with you upon expected performance and (soft) skills. You will receive formal feedback on performance and skills during annual assessment meetings and the mid-term evaluation. If the performance and skills are evaluated positively and are on track at the end of the Tenure Track, you will be appointed in a permanent Associate Professor position.
