We are a busy and friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

Athelney Primary School is a unique and diverse learning community that provides the best possible support in enabling pupils to achieve their best. Pupils and staff are highly motivated and firmly believe in learning together, in partnership with families.

Children are at the centre of all we do at Athelney. Our curriculum is designed to foster curiosity and creativity, to develop motivation and habits that encourage our children to be life long learners. We are proud of the children who attend Athelney and expect them to aim for and achieve the best they possibly can. ‘Nothing is beyond our reach!’

Athelney is a fully inclusive school and we are incredibly proud of our outstanding Resource base for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder which opened in 2010. Personalised learning across the whole school ensures we meet the needs of all children and enables them to reach their full potential. Children at Athelney feel safe, happy and achieve well.

As a successful school, we are committed to supporting and learning from others. Athelney Primary is federated with Elfrida Primary to form the King Alfred Federation. We are proud of our very successful federation and the opportunities that it opens up to children, staff and families. We welcome visitors, so whether you are looking for a nursery/reception place or a professional looking for an inspirational setting to develop your career, please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a visit

On behalf of our family we are very pleased to see how professional staff members are at Athenley Primary School. Our son has made leaps and bounds academically, and socially. He has grown in confidence and loves attending school. Credits to all the staff in the Resource Base.
