Established in 1984, the Australian Institute of Business (AIB) is a registered higher education provider, proudly holding the title of Australia’s largest online MBA provider since 2018. With four decades of experience delivering flexible, supportive, and accessible business education, the AIB community has grown to over 20,000 students and alumni spanning over 100 countries.
As ‘the practical business school’, AIB’s MBA program seamlessly blends business theory with practical work-based assessments. This approach bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, allowing students to achieve their career goals faster than with experience alone.
Designed for busy working professionals, this flexible MBA course is delivered online with interactive, bite-sized content. This allows students to tailor their learning experience to suit their unique lifestyles.
Committed to making education more accessible, AIB removes traditional barriers by offering an MBA entry path based on managerial experience, meaning those with relevant work experience can enrol without needing an undergraduate degree. Combined with personalised support services, the program is tailored to help students achieve both academic and professional success.
AIB’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its high standing within the global business education community. Their programs are accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) in Australia and Chartered Institute of Management (CIM) in Canada. In addition, AIB was awarded Tier One Global Status for the third consecutive year, ranking 7th in Australia and 25th globally in the 2025 CEO MBA Rankings for the online MBA category.
As an online institution, AIB provides opportunities for students to connect in person by hosting regular networking events across Australia and Canada, as well as annual graduation ceremonies in Australia.

Worst on-boarding and customer support of my life.
Completely saddened by how much went wrong, and how much contradiction there was. A waste of two weeks of my life and I'm out. Sorry folks, I really hope this improves.

after successfully completing all the courses that i was told that I needed to in order to graduate and I am literally one month away from graduating, I am now been told that that I have additional courses to do. This is absolute madness and I will not recommend this University to anyone. They are disorganized and unprofessional!

So far so good, excellent support from their team, working through the subjects the topics seem very well structured, information is relevant and i look forward to getting my MBA later this year.

They have been great. Others may not agree, but I have found Student Services to be extremely supportive. The academic staff are additionally supportive. I'm over halfway through my MBA and for the first time, I am genuinely enjoying my higher education experience. I studied at the University of Sydney for my undergrad and found the atmosphere was focused predominantly on theory, rather than practical application. As an adult studying a Masters degree, I wanted a more practical approach. I'm super happy with the AIB. The lecturers are fantastic. Some of the subjects are dryer than others, but it's a business degree. I would definitely sign up with the AIB again should they choose to expand their degrees on offer.

Student services are not service based or service focused.
The service team members, Stephen Gordon, Max and Sam would be all better suited to careers in primary school education, rather I wouldn't want my children subjected to their lack of customer focus. Lets just say if AIB was a restaurant then, you would never eat there again after the first experience.
Yet after they sell you a $25k / per annum degree, they do everything they can to delay, draw out and deflect anything that may resemble "support".
They don't mention at the start that each exam sitting (12 of) is going to cost you an extra $110 per exam, to sit the exam...
The IT services are down at least once a fortnight, and usually around heavy demand times like enrolment times for exams...
They will allow a late enrolment on some days, and wont allow a late enrolment on other days, depending on who you get to talk to and how much you jump up and down about it...
I do not recommend this circus to anyone...

Graduating in 2017; so far.. very impressed. They are who they say they are "a practical business school". If you are a traditional learner and benefit from lecture/classroom setting this is not the place for you. I can now see why their rankings/perception fluctuate so much. This is basically the independent study MBA, they provide the framework, access to academic principal, theory, business case studies and industry data for you to formulate what amounts to a mini-thesis on each subject and are marked fair but hard. You better have some new ideas, real world experience and argue your points very well if you want a good grade. You study one subject per month intensely. You have to craft a written assignment for every course and write a comprehensive exam pertaining to the subject. I would recommend for anyone wanting to pursue a MBA.
