Established in 1998, BCS is the result of much vision, faith, prayer and unity of purpose by a group of men and women with a love for Christian education. We have a rich history of many years of experience developing personal academic excellence and Christ-like character in our students.

BCS is a vibrant school community with over 700 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. We are set apart by our desire to encourage students to grow in their relationship with Jesus through discipleship-based education. Our schools are dedicated to providing a Christ-centered education that enables every student to feel safe, accepted and respected. BCS is an excellent choice in Calgary for homeschool, preschool, elementary, and secondary education, equipping students for the future. BCS offers a Junior Kindergarten program for children ages 3-5 who are 4 years old by December 31st of the year they are enter the program. The program operates three-hour classes, twice a week. BCS’s Junior Kindergarten is committed to providing high-quality, God-centred activities. Christian principles are infused throughout the hands-on learning experiences in a safe, caring, and nurturing environment. Our goal is to maximize each child’s potential and guide children to grow in their knowledge, skills, and abilities while offering them an educational foundation that will provide Kindergarten readiness. BCS is dedicated to partnering with parents, and privileged to assist in training and discipling children.

BCS defines a disciple as “an individual who has chosen to align their values, priorities, attitudes, behaviours and relationships with the example and teaching of Jesus as expressed in his life and as recorded in his Word and is committed to inviting others to the same journey”.

At BCS, staff and students come alongside each other with the shared goal of strengthening and growing their relationship with Jesus. Our school fosters a culture where students are loved, grace is extended and no one is left to struggle alone. Hebrews 10:24 says “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds”. To this end, BCS infuses student life with Bible curriculum, weekly chapel, small groups, missional projects and more.

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired word, and is our final authority for faith and practice. Accordingly, we strive to always point our students back to the Word of God, believing John 17:17 – “Sanctify them with Your truth. Your Word is truth”.

We create opportunities for our students to take Christ’s love outside of our campus and share it with the world around them. Through all aspects of school life and activity, we are there for each other, to celebrate the wins and pick each other up after the setbacks. We know we are all the recipients of God’s grace and love, and our desire is to be agents of that grace and love to each other.

Students can get an academic experience anywhere; at BCS, we ground formal education within the context of God-honouring relationships that help students grow spiritually as well as scholastically. We help them grapple with the tough questions of life in order to develop a personal faith that effectively navigates the culture around them. Through weekly chapel and worship, a pertinent Bible curriculum, small groups, service opportunities, and staff mentoring, we encourage students to experience and enjoy God, and ultimately embrace a living and vibrant faith both now and for the rest of their lives.
