In 1980, the Lord led Eric Thrush to start a church in Mount Helena, Western Australia. It quickly grew from a handful of people meeting in their home to renting a room at Eastern Hills Senior High School. Just four years later ground was broken at 6 Chidlow St and a permanent building was erected.
Later that same year the church again expanded its vision by opening a school, Bible Baptist Christian Academy. This ministry has been a wonderful addition and has proved an asset to many Christian families in our community.
Through the years the church continued to expand its influence by adding an annual family camp in October, a youth camp during the Easter school holidays, children’s ministries, and in 2014 it added Hills Baptist Bible Institute as a place to train a new generation of Christian leaders.
Bible Baptist Christian Academy is a small school specialising in Bible based, Christian education from Pre-primary to Year 12. Founded in 1985, the school is located on the premises of Bible Baptist Church and operates as a ministry of the church.
We believe in partnering with Christian homes in the development of students through education. As a result the school is focused on Biblical principles and academic excellence while always striving to be distinctly Christian. The school holds to a Biblical worldview throughout its curriculum.
BBCA is a member of the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia.
